I hope I don't step on any "soft" subjects as I'm new here and new to NFA firearms. I have what I think is an okay understanding of the NFA, but I have a question regarding purchases of items.
What I would like to do (if possible) is purchase either a Lightning Link or DIAS for an AR-15. The catch is, I live in California where you need a permit to possess a machine gun, and the permits are (for all intents and purposes) never issued. Short of moving to a different state that allows machine guns, is there a way to purchase the device out of state and keep it there until such a time I can either move or machine guns become legal in CA?
Again, I apologize if this is a huge taboo subject, but I figure it's better to ask and be told no, than to find myself in the deep end with the Federal government.
